Kooth

Kooth.com provides PCTs and local authorities with an integrated, safe, secure and non-stigmatised way of providing counselling and advice on emotional and mental health issues to young people.

For young people, the service is a free, confidential, accessible, and non- threatening way of receiving counselling and advice when they first need it.

Kooth is a multiple award winning service

Kooth is currently available to over half a million 11 to 25 year olds in England and Wales.

As of March 2010 it was operational in 12 geographical areas

In 2009/10, Kooth counsellors worked with 337 young people who presented with one or, often more than one, of the "in-care precursors" - the cost of putting this many people into care is approximately £170,000 per day
