Kooth is an award-winning online counselling and advice service for young people aged 11 to 25. It's a free, anonymous, safe, secure and confidential service that young people can turn to anytime they need advice or emotional support.
Kooth operates in partnership with other local services which means that it works closely with social workers, residential social workers, teachers, pupil referral units along with workers from tier one such as school nurses, learning mentors and Connexions.
The service is staffed by a team of specially trained professional therapists and counsellors and helps young people deal with a wide range of problems from alcohol and drug misuse through to bullying and depression.
The Kooth.com website includes chat rooms where young people can talk to a counsellor there and then or book an appointment, moderated, themed message boards, an online magazine, a local news section where young people can find out about local services, events and news that affects them plus blogging enabling young people to keep a personal diary. News features are being added all the time.
