How Kooth works

Importantly for the young people, they register anonymously under a 'username' and are not required to provide their real name or contact details - unless they are highly vulnerable or at risk, in which case the counsellor they are working with will request this information.

All case notes and activity is recorded under the usernames.

The counselling team that run Kooth are experienced and qualified therapists and counsellors. All are either accredited or working towards accreditation. The team is lead by a clinical line manager who is a UKCP accredited psychotherapist.

The counsellors meet regularly, receive external clinical supervision and are committed to ongoing learning and improvement
